DAWSON "MANUAL" CONTROL

- The Dawson Kiln Sitter is actually a time proven automatic shut off device. The reason we call the kiln "manual" is because you need to manually turn up the kiln heat during the firing cycle.
- A pyrometric cone is inserted in the tube assembly of the Dawson. When the cone bends after the proper amount of heat-work an arm moves which releases a weighted trigger which in turn opens the electrical contacts in the Dawson.
- A timer is used as a safety back up. Once you have a good idea of your firing cycle time you set the timer to be about 15 moinutes longer than your cycle is supposed to take.
- NOTE: The timer can easily be disconnected if you don't want to use it.
- The timer is set for slightly longer than the anticipated firing length and turns off the kiln in case the tube assembly mechanism fails to active.
