Caldera Multi-Purpose Kiln

The portable and convenient.  Perfect small kiln for Metal Clay, ceramics and GLASS.  The  Caldera Kiln plugs in almost anywhere on a standard household plug.  Expandable to firing multiple layers or tall items, also great for glass draping! SEE OPTIONAL COLLARS LISTED BELOW FOR BEADS AND ENAMELING.

The Caldera fires rapidly on 120 volts to 2350F degrees. With a separate top and bottom, it is stackable, and completely portable. Inside is made of Firebrick not Fiber, this allows kiln to hold heat longer and be easier to maintain over the years.  A 4.5" collar is available to increase the height of the kiln-- the bead collar is also available with a small door for bead making and lampworking. Runs on a standard Household 120v electrical outlet.  Order as Manual or Digital. One Year Manufacturer Warranty.

Manual-Infinite Control Switch
This kiln comes standard with an infinite control switch, safety pilot light, and pyrometer (temperature sensor). The pyrometer simplifies kiln operation. It shows you what is happening inside the kiln and helps you to become comfortable with firing. By watching the pyrometer and adjusting the switch, you can even hold (soak) the temperature.

  • Bullseye Thinfire Shelf Paper  - for use with glass only. Save time and avoid brush stroke marks. Use thin shelf paper instead of shelf wash for an ultra smooth finish on the back of your fused piece. One time use. Measures 20-1/2" x 20-1/2". Single use.
  • Optional Digital Controller- highly suggested for glass work. 
 
  • Optional Bead Collar  8" x 8" x 4.5" deep w/ 7.5" x 2" door on the side The Caldera and Caldera-S, even with a collar, still fire to 2000°F/1093°C. The Collar is made of 2 ½” insulating refractory firebricks.
  • Optional Blank Collar  8" x 8"  x 6.75" deep.  The Caldera-X collar is a kiln section that stacks onto the Caldera or Caldera-S kiln. The collar adds 4 ½” of height to the kiln. The Caldera-X has no heating elements. It is designed to give extra space for low-fire projects. The Caldera and Caldera-S, even with a collar, still fire to 2000°F/1093°C.
 
  • Optional Enameling Collar  8" x 8"  x 6.75" deep. The collar has no heating elements. Nevertheless, the Caldera and Caldera-S, even with a collar, still fire to 1800°F (982°C). deep

  • Optional View Window: Watch the bright red kiln interior through the optional 2” x 2” high-temperature glass window. This is especially convenient for glass fusing. Watch your glass treasures progress through every stage from tack fuse to full fuse. (Note: always wear firing safety glasses when viewing the kiln interior.)  The glass window is rated to 2300°F (1260°C), so it can easily withstand glass fusing temperatures. Please note, however, that the window reduces the kiln’s maximum temperature to approximately 2100°F (1148°C) and is meant for glass fusing. (You can still fire porcelain and stoneware even with the window, but you will need to plug the window with ceramic fiber.)
  
  • Optional Shelf Kit: Recommended for Glass and Ceramics. 1- 7"x 7"x 5/8" shelf, 4 -1" long 1" wide square posts, 1 lb. bag kiln wash (not actual picture of shelf kit)
